While enrolled in the Dribbble.com Product Design Course, I designed a mobile app that helped people find apartments. The app was designed to appeal to more affluent millennials and allow them to find quality apartment homes.
How do we design an apartment finder app that stands out from the competition.
There is a lot of competition in the apartment finding space, the goal was to create an app that stands out and appeals to mid-level professionals in cities. The first step was to make note of all of the features and goals we want to accomplish with our app.
After doing some basic wire-framing and user-flows, I came up with the visual guidelines.
There are many apartment finder services, so the goal was to appeal to a specific user-base. Targeting affluent millennials was determined to be the course of action as they are more likely to use the service to find specific luxury apartments in their area.
The interface was kept simple to avoid distractions and drive the users to contact leasing agents. The rental agencies want to get potential residents to contact the leasing agencies as quickly as possible.
